LIFESCAPES Selected as Top 10 Finalist for CHISEL Healthcare InnoMatch 2025

LIFESCAPES Inc. is honored to be selected as one of the Top 10 finalists for CHISEL Healthcare InnoMatch 2025, organized by the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI), presented by Temasek Foundation, and supported by the Ministry of Health Singapore. Since its inception in 2021, CHISEL has drawn nearly 1,500 participants from 88 countries, serving as a global platform to connect pioneering solutions with healthcare needs.

Among the finalists, a select group of companies will be given the opportunity to test-bed their solutions within Singapore’s public healthcare system, receiving support to validate their technologies in clinical settings and explore collaborations with leading institutions.

CHISEL is a Singapore-based platform that accelerates the adoption of innovative solutions from start-ups and SMEs by matching them with healthcare needs, central funding, and standardized evaluation.

株式会社LIFESCAPESは、日本貿易振興機構（ジェトロ）が経済産業省の協力を得て実施するアクセラレーションプログラム「J-StarX AI Medicalコース」Phase1に採択されました。

本プログラムは、米国・ミネソタ州に拠点を持つ世界的医療機関Mayo Clinicのプラットフォーム組織であるMayo Clinic Platform、米国のベンチャーキャピタルKicker Ventures、Mayo Clinic Berg Innovation Exchangeと連携し、日本のスタートアップが米国ヘルスケア市場参入に必要な知識習得、戦略策定、コネクション形成を行うことを目的としています。

今後、米国市場での事業展開に向けて、Mayo Clinicのエコシステムや現地の規制環境に関する知見を獲得するとともに、キーパーソンとのネットワークを構築してまいります。

Selected for Mayo Clinic Platform_Accelerate: A First Step Toward Entry into the U.S. Market

LIFESCAPES Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected for Phase 1 of the “J-StarX AI Medical Course,” an acceleration program implemented by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

This program is conducted in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Platform, the innovation arm of the world-renowned Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, USA, as well as U.S.-based venture capital firm Kicker Ventures and the Mayo Clinic Berg Innovation Exchange. The program supports Japanese startups in acquiring the knowledge, formulating the strategies, and building the connections necessary for successful entry into the U.S. healthcare market.

Through this initiative, LIFESCAPES will gain insights into the Mayo Clinic ecosystem and the U.S. regulatory environment, while establishing networks with key stakeholders as the company prepares for business expansion in the United States.

Our selected project, entitled “Feasibility Study on the Business Potential of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) Rehabilitation in Indonesia,” will assess the potential introduction and scale-up of rehabilitation medical devices powered by BCI technology.

■ Purpose of the Program
This subsidy program supports the costs of feasibility and demonstration studies to accelerate the overseas expansion of Japanese healthcare products and services, particularly in areas where Japan holds competitive strengths across medical and long-term care. Focusing on Indonesia, LIFESCAPES will conduct a comprehensive feasibility assessment covering regulatory, market, and operational aspects.

■ Our Initiative
LIFESCAPES is advancing BCI technology to enable functional recovery for patients with severe post-stroke paralysis—an area long considered difficult to treat. With this selection, we will further accelerate our efforts toward international expansion, with the goal of improving patients’ quality of life and supporting their return to work worldwide.

株式会社LIFESCAPESは、東京都とStartup Island Taiwanが共催する「Taiwan–Tokyo Bridge: Innovating Together –Healthcare Edition–」に参加し、2025年7月22日・23日に台湾・台北にて現地の医療・バイオ系スタートアップ支援機関との交流およびピッチ登壇を行いました。
本プログラムでは、Taipei Medical University（台北医科大学）およびTaipei BioInnovation Parkを訪問し、台湾の先進的な医療・研究・事業支援の現場を視察。また、台北市内のTaiwan Tech Arenaにて開催されたピッチイベントでは、当社が開発・展開するBMI（Brain-Machine Interface）技術を用いたニューロリハビリテーション機器について発表しました。
今後もLIFESCAPESは、BMI技術の社会実装を通じて、重度麻痺患者の機能回復と日常生活の再構築に貢献するとともに、国内外での展開を加速してまいります。

LIFESCAPES Inc. is pleased to announce its participation in the Taiwan–Tokyo Bridge: Innovating Together –Healthcare Edition– program, co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Startup Island Taiwan. The program was held in Taipei on July 22–23, 2025, and focused on fostering collaboration between Japanese and Taiwanese healthcare and biotech startups.
As part of the program, LIFESCAPES visited leading institutions such as Taipei Medical University and Taipei BioInnovation Park to explore Taiwan’s cutting-edge research, clinical, and startup ecosystem. On the second day, Ryotaro Hirose took the stage at Taiwan Tech Arena to present LIFESCAPES’ BCI-based neurorehabilitation device and share the company’s vision for global deployment.
Through the implementation of brain-computer interface technology, LIFESCAPES remains committed to supporting functional recovery and improving the quality of life for patients with severe paralysis — both in Japan and internationally.

LIFESCAPESは先週、大阪にて開催された Medtech Actuator × JETRO HealthTech GatewayプログラムのDemo Day に参加し、当社のBrain-Computer Interface（BCI）技術を用いた脳卒中リハビリ向け医療機器について発表を行いました。
また、その後に開催された Japan Health にもブースを出展し、国内外の医療従事者や産業界のリーダー、そして多くのパートナー候補の皆さまと交流する機会を得ました。
ブースへお立ち寄りいただいた皆さま、また議論にご参加いただいた皆さまに心より感謝申し上げます。今回の出会いを次の一歩につなげ、より多くの患者さまに当社のソリューションをお届けできるよう、引き続き尽力してまいります。

LIFESCAPES Showcased at Demo Day & Japan Health in Osaka
Our team had an amazing time in Osaka, where we had multiple opportunities to share our work with a wide range of stakeholders in the medtech community.
We kicked off the week with a pitch at the Demo Day of the Medtech Actuator x JETRO HealthTech Gateway program, showcasing our Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology for stroke rehabilitation.
Later in the week, we also exhibited at Japan Health. We had the opportunity to connect with clinicians, industry leaders, and potential partners from Japan and abroad.
