J-StarX UK HealthTech Launchpadについて
「J-StarX」は経済産業省とジェトロが主導し、世界の起業家エコシステムとのネットワークを構築することで、グローバルに活躍する起業家の育成を目指すプログラムです。今回LIFESCAPESが採択された「UK HealthTech Launchpad」は、世界的なヘルスケア・メドテックの拠点である英国・欧州市場を目指すスタートアップを対象に、英国の医療制度・規制理解から現地パートナー獲得、実証・社会実装までを支援するプログラムです。
本プログラムは、King’s College LondonのSt Thomas’ Hospitalキャンパス内に拠点を置く「London Institute for Healthcare Engineering(LIHE)」と連携して実施されます。英国有数の医療工学・臨床研究拠点であるLIHEが有するNHS(英国国民保健サービス)、研究者、臨床医、事業人材等のネットワークを活用し、英国市場参入に向けた実践的な伴走支援を受けます。英国市場理解を深めるフェーズ1(2026年7月~10月)と、現地規制・臨床・市場参入を具体化するフェーズ2(2026年11月~2027年3月)の二段階で構成され、LIFESCAPESはフェーズ1に採択されました。

LIFESCAPES Selected for JETRO’s “J-StarX UK HealthTech Launchpad” Program

We are pleased to announce that LIFESCAPES has been selected as one of five startups for Phase 1 of the “J-StarX UK HealthTech Launchpad” program, organized by JETRO with support from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). J-StarX is a government-backed initiative aimed at fostering globally competitive startups. This specific program supports Japanese MedTech innovators in expanding into the UK and European markets. Partnering with the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) at King’s College London, LIFESCAPES will gain access to LIHE’s extensive network—including the NHS (National Health Service), clinical researchers, and business experts.

LIFESCAPES Selected for AMED’s FY2026 “Translational Research Program”

We are proud to announce that our R&D project leveraging Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technology has been accepted into the FY2026 “Translational Research Program” by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
This project will proceed as an investigator-initiated clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of an innovative neurorehabilitation system for severe stroke-related upper limb motor deficits. The initiative is supported by Hokkaido University as the designated supporting institution, with Professor Masahiko Mukaino of Hokkaido University serving as the Principal Investigator.
